Tasting - Bodegas Atalaya Almansa Laya
Name: Bodegas Atalaya Almansa Laya
Variety: 70% Garnacha 30% Monastrell
Region: Almansa
Country: Spain
Year: 2010
Price: $12
Winery Review: Deep red cherry in color. Elegant, fresh and complex nose that highlights ripe fruit and floral notes. Nice and fresh on the palate, well-balanced with sweet but young tannins, a delicious mouthful sensation that lingers on the very long and smooth finish.
My Review: On the nose it was bold with hints of cherry, black cherry and flowers. Cedar, smoky and creamy with a smooth finish. I had this wine with cheese and crackers. The food helped to round out and soften the flavors.
